Dental Procedures

• Newly admitted residents have a dental evaluation during the first month of their stay. If the physician on admission recognizes a more pressing need, the resident will be scheduled more promptly.
• Follow up appointments are scheduled by the Dental Department as indicated.
• If an appointment is cancelled either by the resident's unit or by the Dental Department, the Dental office will make a new appointment for the resident.
• If a family member wishes to accompany the resident to the Dental appointment, they may call the Dental Clinic and leave a phone number in case the appointment is cancelled. The Dental office will make every effort to provide as much notice to the family as is possible.
• All residents see the Dentist at least annually.
• Family members who accompany residents to the Clinic are requested not to interfere with personnel in the performance of their duties.
